Logitech
Cordless Optical Pro 8/10. Date Posted 01/06/2002.

This
keyboard and mouse set looks quite funky! Both devices are cordless, and
the transmitter plugs into a free USB port. Power for the cordless devices
comes from batteries and these seem to last several months. The keyboard
is not a Natural one, but it nevertheless has some quite unique features.
It has a wheel at the side, and also a dial to change the volume. Whether
this is important, is not certain, especially given that the mouse already
has a wheel. There are also several hotkeys, mainly for internet browsing.
The range from the transmitter is approximately 6 foot, but this largely
depends upon the room and if there are any objects in the way of the transmitter.
Certainly, you could use this combo, sitting on an armchair away from
your computer. The keyboard feel is quite good, but there is not a large
handrest at the bottom.
The
mouse uses an optical beam, and is quite nice to use. It fits comfortably,
but not quite as well as Microsoft's Intellimouse Explorer. It feels far
better built than Microsoft's competing mouse. In short this combo is
not cheap (at nearly eighty pounds), but both devices look great. They
would be perfect for the living room or if you own a lifestyle system.
